TWO FAILURES. Despite the rough water on Friday, German Channel swimmer, Noel Fischer, attempted to swim the Channel from Cap Nez. He left at 9.55 a.m. was accompanied by the Calais trawler “Notre Dame du Risban”.

A German named Fischer tried to swim the Channel from Gris yesterday, but gave up four miles from England.
