Introducing this website

This website is a history and photographic archive of Cross-Channel Swimming. Here you can browse through photos, memories, stories and historical information related to the subject.

About us

This website is created by a group of volunteersĀ  at Dover Museum. We’re always interested in new recruits, so if you’re interested please contact us.

Dover Museum would like to thank all channel swimmers and volunteers involved with the channel swimming digital archive over the years and, in particular, Norman Trusty and Joe Smith.

The Museum is grateful to Mr and Mrs Johnson for the generous donation of the Sam Rockett collection.

Project personnel:
Joe Smith, researcher and compiler
Norman Trusty, researcher and photo archive
Bryan Williams, librarian and photo scanning
Mark Frost, researcher and webmaster
