    Notes
Channel Swimmer Loses Out'. BOULOGNE, France, July. The English Channel has defeated Olaf Farstad, the Norwegian swimmer. He had started at 10.44 o'clock yesterday morning at Cape Griz Nez to swim across to Dover, England, but was forced to give up the attempt at three o'clock this morning. Farstad who is a policeman, gave up a mile and a half from the English coast when rough water made continuance impossible. His performance is considered one of the most remarkabla in recent channel history, for he entered the water without grease, goggles, or the head cap usually deemed indispensable in such efforts: Lethbridge Herald Jul 29 1926
