Due to the fear of the imminent second world war, Sally had to rush back home. Therefore swim not added to C.S.A. list until 1975. Sally went on to swim the Channel again in the Daily Mail 1951 race in a time of 14hrs 40 min. Other crew; Mr Gipson. Mr Kalfuss and Mr T. Brockman jnr. Witnesses; Briscoe Ray (A. S. A.), L W Holloway (Observer) (RLSS), Mr Gosta Westin (Swedish Consul General), Mr H Eirmark.
