Mrs Kellingley's Dover to Deal swim
Newspaper clipping reads: “Mrs Ethel Kellingley of Deal, is fifty-three. Yesterday she swam breast-stroke from Dover’s eastern breakwater to Deal pier – ten miles – in two and three quarter hours. Last May, at Walmer, she swam after a mad Alsatian wolfhound, “lassoed” it with a bathing towel and brought it ashore”.
