Joan Brunton 20/09/1928. Miss Joan Brunton aged 11 being presented with a cup for swimming from Dover to Deal, as preparation for swimming the Channel. Presentation taking place on Clarence Lawn, in front of the memorial to Capt. Mathew Webb. First man to swim the channel.
