Hilda Sharp lands after her swim, with Jabez Wolffe

The lady sat down (cross legged) is Hilda “Laddie” Sharp who swam the channel on Friday 28th August 1928 starting at 12:50am at Calais and reached Dover (Lydden Spout) at 04:48pm the same day, total crossing time was 14hrs 58mins.  The male in the picture is Jabez Wolffe who was Hilda Sharps trainer. The 2nd female in the picture is a Ms Joyce Bouch who accompanied Hilda for the last hour of her swim.
