John was a Dover boatman and pilot. Outside their home at 48 East Cliff. John James Burwill 1864 – 1922 and Amy Elizabeth Atkins 1869 – 1955

Pop (Jack / John) Burvill (Burwill) acted as a pilot on many Channel swimming escort and support boats.  A Black and White photograph.
