Sunny Lowry's Channel Crossing Log

Sunny Lowry’s log of her Channel swim of 28/29 Aug 1933. There is a white piece of checked paper attached to a saying: “The undersigned signatories certify that having assisted in the crossing by Ethel Sunny Lowry they all have seen this girl get into the water at Gris Nez? on the 28th of August 1933 at 6.35 pm, and she swam across to St Margaret’s Bay (England), where she arrived on the 29th August 1933 at 10.17 am, without any others assistance but her own”. Beneath this are approximately twenty signatures. Under this, on the paper this has been attached to, it says: “Miss Ethel (Sunny) Lowry’s Channel Cross from ? Gris Nez? to St Margaret’s Bay 28th of August 1933 6.36 pm – 29th of August 1933 10.17 am (15 hours 31 minutes) excuse waiting and ?, it has ???? and this is signed by the time-keeper life member of the Channel Swimming Assocation.
