Ted Erikson U.S.A. 1964. Time 12hrs 35mins; this was a two-way attempt – he swam for 23 hrs and was defeated by the cold weather conditions. Pilots, Winters and Liddon. 1965 two way, 30 hrs 03 min, new world record. This was his third attempt of the year.
