Staged swim for Movietone cinema On Board; H. B. Hayward official time keeper. Plus two sea scouts. Messrs Holland and Pearce. This was an attempt for the Dover Gold Cup. A display was put on for Movie tone Cinema before the swim was abandoned. Sea very rough, no chance of success - air temperature very cold and sea temperature dropping. She gave up due to the cold. The Vindication Swim. Observed by Daily Mail aeroplane She called it a vindication swim, due to the doubt cast by Dr. Logan's swim. Swam wearing a Rolex Gold watch, which was later sold for £17 000. On board; Mrs Sharp. (Not in Across the Straights, probably because not reported in Dover Express until October 21, well after end of season)
