Abdu, Abdel Moneim

Abdel Moneim Abdu was a member of the Egyptian team who came each year to Folkestone 1948 to 1954

His first swim was a successful 6-man relay follwed by a failure France to England on 4/9/48.  He failed again on 5/09/1950 and again on 28/07/1951 when 5 Egyptians started together. All gave up together 7 miles off Dover

His one success was on 18/08/1952, described then as aged 27, a Newspaper Reporter

His last swim was also a failure, on 5/08/1954
