Spent the 1929, 1930 and 1931 seasons at Dover/Deal training and waiting to make a Channel swim but no attempts recorded.
Janet English and sister Ida English of Beverley, near Hull, swam Dover – Deal in record time in 1929, both of Hull Kingston Swimming Club. Janet set to swim channel in 1930

Ida born 1900 and Janet born 1902 at Beverley to Robert Alfred and Annie Elizabeth English. Her father died when she was a small child.
01/04/1916 to 29/11/1918 served with Red Cross in the kitchens of Sleights Red Cross Hospital, Yorkshire.
1931 married Fred Peck, canal boatman, at Beverley.
Died Beverley 1977
