Enoch Taylor of Folkestone (1891 Swimming Master, Folkestone Baths)
Enoch Taylor, professional swimmer belonging to Yorkshire, on Monday had his hands and feet tied, and in this way attempted to accomplish swim of six miles, from Folkestone to Dover. He made very slow progress for two miles, and shortly afterwards was taken out

Taylor was employed as swimming master at the Folkestone Baths for the 1891 season and gave trick swimming demonstrations at the baths and on Victoria Pier. He became famous for swimming Folkestone to Dover with hands and feet tied, which he undertook several times, both successful and failed.
Apart from the 1891 Channel Swim Race, abandoned after 3 days of bad conditions, he doesn’t seem to make any more attempts on the Channel. Also, apart from swimming the Thames manacled in 1892, seemingly has no further career in swimming
