Weight 14 stone 10 lbs. Temp 62°f - 58°f. Professor Bibbero was on board. Fresh south westerly breeze and a nasty choppy sea. Burgess was unable to charter a Tug to accompany him, so on arriving in Dover from Paris he asked those responsible for Weidman’s arrangements if he could swim with Weidman using the same Tug. This was agreed and both swimmers set off together. Burgess said that Weidman was too slow. So, after swimming several times around the Tug to keep warm he got out. A report in Folkestone Express.
