"BOULOGNE, France, Sept. 3.—In the water 13 hours and still five miles from her goal, Frau Meynell of Germany, was forced to abandon her attempt to swim the English channel late today. She entered the water at Gris Nez at 4:25 and was taken out at 5:29 p.m. when she was five miles from Dover, excessive fatigue forced her to give up."
