Bimal Kumar Chandra (Born 19 November 1927; Died 17 February 1998), a medical doctor by profession, was the second Indian swimmer to cross the English Channel and the first Indian to cross it from the French side on 10th September 1959. He represented India at the first Asian Games, held at New Delhi 1951, and won two bronze medals in swimming. He also represented the country in two swimming events at the 1948 Summer Olympics.
